Our GM, Wena, crowned Miss Universe of Fashion!

Our very own beautiful, talented, amazing, gratuitous Wenadrenia Soderstrom took the SL fashion world by storm with her recent win of Miss Universe of Fashion. I am honored to present to you all, the very 1st photographs of our lovely Miss Universe of Fashion, taken by myself, Rhi Rossini. All of us at SuperElite are so very proud! Here is a short interview concerning her win.How does it feel to have this title? Of all my days in SL, this is the most incredible, empowering feeling I have ever had. I still have to pinch myself but truly it is one of the biggest honors given to me by such wonderful designers, peers, ceo's, and friends. I will do my best in every way to fulfill my duties as Miss Universe of Fashion. I want to say thank you to CONTE Xue his wife Contessa Xue, Estrelia Guisse, Kimm Choche, Angels Milena, my designers of this event, Vincenca that designed the wonderful crown and jewelry I wear, and most of all, my devoted husband Jens Marksman.

How hard did you work to earn this? This is a competition hosted by Adrenalina Fashion, started in late February and concluded on April 28th 2009. It was 10 weeks of trials and runway challenges. Every contestant, including myself, spent hours selecting the most desirable hairs, lashes, shoes, and accessories to incorporate with the wonderful gowns provided to us by such designers as DD's Designs, Lady Thera, Atelier Bonetto, Anubis Style, Vincenca Rosca Jewelry, Elisea Carter, and many other top SL designers.

What do you hope to accomplish in your next year as Miss Universe? I plan on helping SuperElite expand and grow into the empire I believe it to be... It is the kitten growing and developing that soon will roar throughout the fashion industry. As I am the GM for one of SL's top agencies, I will do my best to see that growth and development is not held back by anything. I am researching some charities that I might be able to help bring some happiness into someones life from SL to RL. I think it is important to help those in need buy just a simple outing with their family or maybe a hot meal.

I believe I can make a difference in a designers interpretation of what they are tying to present. I want to go out and show to all types of models that anyone can bring fashion to the world. I would also like to start ground breaking for a fashioning school of sorts for those models that are just struggling a bit or maybe just want a makeover. How will you use this title to help others in SL? In having such a powerful fashion title, it enables me to have a stronger voice in the SL fashion world. When speaking for a charity or a classroom full of new students, this title adds a sense of respect without words spoken.

I want help bring designers dreams to life. Representing this title as best to my ability... this also allows me to help those who wish to become supermodels for a grand agency such as SuperElite. Having the Miss Universe title will help me stand out in a crowd and easily be found for those seeking me.

Do you have anything else to add? In conclusion, I hope that everyone gets to experience a wonderful experience such as this. It has truly set a strong path for me and with every bit of my SL avatar. I will set out to help others and make an impact for the history of fashion in SL.

Meet our new GM, Wenadrenia Soderstrom

I had the chance to spend some time with our new GM, Wenadrenia Soderstrom. I just had to delve into her creative mind, and I thought you'd all like to have a peek into this woman's amazing Second Life as well.

She is more than just a co-worker to me. She is a good friend. She and her RL/SL husband, Jens Marksman, built an amazing wedding set for my dear friend Sami and I, and hosted the wonderful event.

I caught up with Wena and Jens on a fantastic build they are working on for Opium.
How did you learn of SL?
I was bored with the other games. I played Wow and Everquest for years. I was just surfing the net for online games. I wanted a game with more avatar personalization.

How did you get involved SL fashion industry?
It was totally by accident. I liked to play Barbie's of course, so I was at JCNY and I got some jewelry, and on the way out I saw the contest. Of course you think that your avatar is the most beautiful in SL, so you have to join the contest. On my first round, Renee Veliz pretty much mothered me. She took me under her wing and got me to the classes at Capalini & Vantelli Fashion Agency. From there I went with her to Look Elite. Advancing in this industry is not something that happens overnight. It takes a lot of time and patience. It's not a fast food drive through career! You are also an amazing builder. How did you branch into this creative aspect of SL?
It started with a lamp! I never though I could ever be a builder. A guy named James Henry Palen, he encouraged Jens and I to work on the house. I was scared for a month! I wouldn’t touch anything, I had Jens do it all. And then one day, I started playing with a box, which became the light on the lamp. I just took a box and started twisting it and playing with it. It took me all day to build this. With the encouragement from James, and some textures from the house, it all kind of went from there.

What do you see in the future for yourself in SL?
With my modeling career exploding like it is, and the building becoming so popular, I see us as becoming master builders, and mentors for other people. How does it feel to have this position, and what are your hopes for the future with SE?
I find it a great honor to even be considered for the position let alone hold it. I hope to help build SE to the empire I know it will be. The team from models to creative builders, we are a number one agency. SuperElite has some of the most elite and professional I have experienced in SL. I enjoy every day I am allowed to be apart of the SE family.

Thank you so very much for your time! Do you have any closing thoughts for us?
When my peak of modeling is coming down, I want to be able to help new models. I always rate myself no higher than an 85 because there is always room to grow. I think that being an icon model, like some of my peers, would definitely be a positive thing so that I can help pass along the vast amount of information learned creating future SL supermodels.

Melanie Sautereau

I'm Melanie Sautereau, rezzed on February 17th, 2007. My hometown is the wonderful country Holland. My first Language is Dutch, second is English. In Real Life I'm a 22-year-old woman, I will turn 23 in August.
My interests are, besides playing SL, my RL boyfriend, sports, fashion and modeling programs. My hobbies in RL are shopping, going out with my friends, having fun with my BF and to experiment with clothes and make-up. Yes, also in RL I'm a real fashionista :P
Curiosity was the reason what took me on this journey. I started to explorer Second Life and meet people from all over the world. I was fascinated about how many friendly people there are on this world. I made many friends since that time. I started to become a hostess in a highly entertainment club. I got bored after a while and also because of RL i had to go offline for a long time. In August 2008 I came back on Second Life. I started to put my eyes and ears to another big thing in this world; The Fashion Industry. I joined the Eve Model Academy and graduated in October. In that time I worked very, very hard on my appereances, knowledges and skills, and became a well growned model. I still had the feeling I wasnt good enough, so I joined another Academy; Face2Face. I took twice a week special Runway lessons, to improve my skills. With succes. I will graduate at April 21st. I also took 6 advanced lessons at Evane, given by Mimmi Boa. I will graduate at April 22nd.
I am a very friendly, sensitive, talkative and open minded person. When I'm playing SL, I really take myself completely into this game. This means I am very commited with my modeling work, which I really enjoy, and I always give 100% of my efford! I have my own eccentric look and sparkly personality. I am hard to forget ;)
