Meet our new GM, Wenadrenia Soderstrom

I had the chance to spend some time with our new GM, Wenadrenia Soderstrom. I just had to delve into her creative mind, and I thought you'd all like to have a peek into this woman's amazing Second Life as well.

She is more than just a co-worker to me. She is a good friend. She and her RL/SL husband, Jens Marksman, built an amazing wedding set for my dear friend Sami and I, and hosted the wonderful event.

I caught up with Wena and Jens on a fantastic build they are working on for Opium.
How did you learn of SL?
I was bored with the other games. I played Wow and Everquest for years. I was just surfing the net for online games. I wanted a game with more avatar personalization.

How did you get involved SL fashion industry?
It was totally by accident. I liked to play Barbie's of course, so I was at JCNY and I got some jewelry, and on the way out I saw the contest. Of course you think that your avatar is the most beautiful in SL, so you have to join the contest. On my first round, Renee Veliz pretty much mothered me. She took me under her wing and got me to the classes at Capalini & Vantelli Fashion Agency. From there I went with her to Look Elite. Advancing in this industry is not something that happens overnight. It takes a lot of time and patience. It's not a fast food drive through career! You are also an amazing builder. How did you branch into this creative aspect of SL?
It started with a lamp! I never though I could ever be a builder. A guy named James Henry Palen, he encouraged Jens and I to work on the house. I was scared for a month! I wouldn’t touch anything, I had Jens do it all. And then one day, I started playing with a box, which became the light on the lamp. I just took a box and started twisting it and playing with it. It took me all day to build this. With the encouragement from James, and some textures from the house, it all kind of went from there.

What do you see in the future for yourself in SL?
With my modeling career exploding like it is, and the building becoming so popular, I see us as becoming master builders, and mentors for other people. How does it feel to have this position, and what are your hopes for the future with SE?
I find it a great honor to even be considered for the position let alone hold it. I hope to help build SE to the empire I know it will be. The team from models to creative builders, we are a number one agency. SuperElite has some of the most elite and professional I have experienced in SL. I enjoy every day I am allowed to be apart of the SE family.

Thank you so very much for your time! Do you have any closing thoughts for us?
When my peak of modeling is coming down, I want to be able to help new models. I always rate myself no higher than an 85 because there is always room to grow. I think that being an icon model, like some of my peers, would definitely be a positive thing so that I can help pass along the vast amount of information learned creating future SL supermodels.
